Clobbi is going to digitalize the production of fiber-optic cables for a leading manufacturer in Eastern Europe, Odeskabel PJSC

Odeskabel PJSC, a leading Ukrainian manufacturer of cable and wire for telecommunications, energy, construction, mechanical engineering and other industries, has begun a project to build a management system for optical cable production. The project involves the integration of an ERP system and production equipment using IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things). The Clobbi team is responsible for the implementation.

 The main goal of the Odeskabel project is to improve the information quality for management decisions through integration with the shop floor equipment, as well as to improve economic performance through reengineering and introducing modern management processes. To achieve these goals, Clobbi will implement its Industry 4.0 products: SmartFactory, Enterprise Asset Management using Reliability-Centered Maintenance (predictive reliability-centered equipment maintenance, RCM) and DigitalTwins (augmented and virtual reality, IIoT)

 Thanks to the new system and optimized processes, Odeskabel PJSC plans to achieve the following results:

  • increase production volumes due to production planning per second;
  • improve customer service via setting accurate deadlines and increasing the share of orders shipped on time;
  • start to quickly control production costs;
  • improve product quality and find hidden reserves to reduce costs;
  • improve equipment reliability by using predictive methodologies.

‘We are always open to implementing best practices in management, and lately, we have become especially aware of how large-scale and high-quality transformations can be promoted by process digitalization. The extensive expertise of the Clobbi team in this direction is the main reason we have asked this particular company to implement a new SmartFactory project,’ said Oleg Prokopovich, Production Director at Odeskabel.

 ‘Complex digital transformation projects make it possible to revise current business processes, optimize and rebuild them. These steps help enterprises to improve their manageability and find hidden reserves to improve efficiency and profitability. Modern Industry 4.0 technologies – such as the use of artificial intelligence for optimized production planning, deep integration with equipment (IIoT), reliability-centered equipment maintenance (RCM) – open up new opportunities for optimization,’ added Dmitriy Shapovalov, Clobbi CEO.

 The project is expected to last 9 months, and the system will be put into operation in the second quarter of 2021.
